Amsterdam Student Encampment↗︎, Workers for Palestine↗︎, Samidoun↗︎, Mokum Kraakt↗︎ and UvA for Palestine ask for your help in setting up an archive for the Student Intifada in the Netherlands.

As the protests are still ongoing, we initiated this archive to:

  1. Preserve the memory of the student uprising
  2. Collect evidence of police violence
  3. Shape our own narrative of these events
  4. Learn lessons for future protests

We invite you to submit photos, footage and written accounts of your experiences of the events. So far, this archive has been used to:

This archive is stored in a private and secure database. This means that the full archive is only accessible to a select group of archivists and researchers, trusted with the immense task of handling such sensitive material. Sometimes, a few submissions are compiled into a report for court cases and media/research projects. This is only done when explicit consent is granted by the sender in the submission form.

The people united will never be defeated. Thank you for your contribution!

Contact Details

If you feel comfortable, please provide us with temporary, anonymized contact details so we can attribute your contribution and follow up with you if we have any additional questions. We suggest you pick a chosen name we can address you with and use a throwaway email address for us to reach you. These fields are completely optional.

To reiterate: the goals of this archive are to preserve the memory of events that have taken place during the student intifada in the Netherlands, support legal cases of individuals facing prosecution and further state violence, shape our own narrative of the events in collaboration with media and tactical research groups and learn lessons for future protests. Sensitive and identifiable information will be anonymised in photos and videos where possible. Media that has been uploaded can not be attributed back to its owner. By uploading, you therefore give up ownership rights. We will do everything in our power to protect this material from law enforcement; however, please keep in mind that absolute security does not exist.
